Abbie Cutter

Abbie Cutter and her husband Bowman currently own two properties under open space easement–one in Waterford, VA eased in the earliest years of the program, and a farm in Augusta County recently designated a “century farm” with the help of VCC staff. She also served on the board of the Waterford Foundation, an organization that spearheaded the open space movement in Virginia in the 1970’s. In addition, Ms. Cutter directed a National Endowment for the Humanities program that provided challenge grant funds to non-profits required to raise matching funds, giving her in-depth familiarity with fundraising plans for such organizations. She was born and raised in Virginia and received an MFA from George Washington University after graduating from Mary Washington College.
