Katie Wallace

Katie Wallace, a Roanoke native, spends much of her time running her business, Wallace360, an award-winning marketing communications firm she’s owned for almost 30 years in downtown Roanoke. With an emphasis on strategic planning and branding for regional clients, her current focus is senior housing, banking, healthcare and community economic development.

Katie has served on boards in the advertising industry both at the state and local level, and in higher education, serving on the advisory council for the Communications Arts program at VA Western Community College and on a Roanoke council-appointed environmental education committee. She is the recent recipient of the Advertising Federation’s Silver Medal Award honoring her years of leadership and service. She has been recognized by the Roanoke Valley Cool Cities Coalition for environmental stewardship in business and received the YWCA’s Women of Achievement Award in Business.

Katie inherited her love of real estate – farms and historic buildings – from her father, with whom she spent a lot of time on her family’s farm near Fincastle. Katie attended Hollins University before graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from VCU. She resides in Roanoke with her husband, Jim Cherney, and two dogs and also spends time in Bath County. When she’s not working, she’s hiking a trail with her dogs, preferably near a river.
